Before engaging with a supplier we conduct due diligence. We follow a risk-based system to identify potential risks in our supply chain which includes enhanced monitoring of companies deemed to operate in a higher-risk country or companies which operate in higher-risk industries.

In order to mitigate risk within our supply chain, we have put in place systems to:

•  Identify and assess areas of potential risk prior to engaging in a relationship with a supplier and on an ongoing basis through our annual Supplier Risk Assessment exercise. This is supplemented by ongoing monitoring of supplier performance and issues which might arise.
• This process is supported by providing training to those staff most in contact with suppliers to recognise the signs of modern slavery; and information to all staff via our corporate intranet.
• Ensuring staff can speak up about concerns they might have in relation to our business or our dealings with suppliers is one of the Five Ethical Principles contained in our Code of Business Conduct (pdf-5.5MB) and supported through a specific Speak Up Policy Handbook.

This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes CDB-Group’s slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 31/12/2017.
